Kells Academy, Montreal, Quebec
About: Since 1978, Kells Academy has led and accompanied students on the rich, meaningful, and highly rewarding journey that defines its most particular educational experience. A private, English, non-denominational school offering co-educational classes from Kindergarten through Grade 11, Kells Academy was founded on the understanding and appreciation of student individuality, and the complete rejection of the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to learning. As such, Kells has built its future-minded model around individualized programs that embrace a child’s uniqueness, attuned to their culture, lifestyle, and interests, as well as to their ability.
At the core of its winning formula, Kells’ small class sizes, excellent academic, arts and recreational programs, and dedicated, high-quality educators, provide an innovative and enriching learning environment, additionally enhanced with many of today’s most advanced learning tools. Using a variety of proven teaching approaches, Kells professionals encourage and inspire each student to achieve their personal best, empowering them with knowledge, self-esteem, and the capability of progressing confidently in pursuit of their dreams.
Beyond merely understanding individualism, Kells Academy celebrates it, responding to the unique ‘DNA’ of each student with its diversity of learning approaches. A deeper appreciation of a student’s experience, interests, culture, and other realities, allows Kells to ensure them a learning experience that responds more precisely to their individual needs, and one that is considerably more rich and meaningful. In so doing, Kells not only prepares students for present and future challenges in the 21st Century - it empowers them.
Enter a welcoming environment that encourages openness to learning and life. Kells Academy understands that each student is unique with experiences, interests, and cultural lifestyles that are all their own. Kells' challenge is to understand these differences and provide an innovative environment that celebrates uniqueness while offering a diversity of learning approaches, ensuring students a learning experience that is rich and meaningful.
At Kells, flexibility is key. The curriculum provides the structure, yet its implementation is adaptable. Kells develops individualized programs, allowing students to work within their comfort zone, which may be above, below, or at grade level.
While the pursuit of academic excellence and the fostering of a lifelong love of learning are the cornerstones of Kells Academy, their commitment extends beyond scholastic achievement to strike a balance in the lives of students. At Kells, students embark on a journey of knowledge that encourages them to learn about themselves and the world in which they live. Within a warm and nurturing atmosphere, they develop strong bonds with their teachers and are encouraged to participate, take risks, become confident, and most of all, become contributing members of society. Kells creates a milieu in which youth can flourish while acquiring a deep sense of self-esteem.
Kells Academy has a vision for its students. Kells believes that every student has a contribution to make to this world. It is their mission to develop, encourage, and provide students with an opportunity to grow. In doing so, Kells prepares young people for the challenges of the 21st century.
